Notes: Transferred from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay (HSTB) to TheDoodPack Rescue on September 30, 2025, MJ’s journey has been one of resilience and rediscovery. After arriving at HSTB on September 19, she received her spay surgery, vaccines, microchip, and much-needed care for her severely matted coat. While in TheDoodPack’s care, she’s continued to get cleaned up and pampered thanks to our partners at Paradise Pet Grooming. MJ was briefly adopted, but despite our notes emphasizing her extra-sensitive nature, her adopters found that she was too fearful to fully settle in. Early in that short adoption period, she became overwhelmed and managed to slip away, leading to a brief but intense search before she was thankfully found safe. MJ needs a family or adopter with plenty of time, patience, and a calm environment where she can decompress and build trust at her own pace. She’s non-aggressive, dog-friendly, and has such a gentle soul. She’s simply still learning that humans can be kind. With continued desensitization, companionship, and a patient, understanding family, MJ will absolutely blossom. She’s not the dog for everyone, but she is the perfect match for someone who believes in second (or third) chances and understands that healing hearts take time.
